Family Pictures

Over the summer (June 2012), my friend Jen Bryner once again used her photography talents to take our family pictures before we moved. We wanted to go some places the helped us remember the beautiful valley we had all called home for so many years.  

We started out by heading up Logan Canyon and then had a finale up on the campus of Utah State University.

January 2013 has started out with a bitter cold blast.  But this IS Utah in January.  People told me that Salt Lake is so much warmer than Logan... Lies!  All Lies!  Well, not completely.  I guess those 5-10 degrees may make a difference to some people but after a certain point, bitter painful cold is just bitter painful cold.  The last few night the low has been around -5 to -7 here but they say that it actually "feels" colder.  Uh huh.  It's pretty shocking to walk out into.  Makes me feel a little dazed every time I get that icy blast.  I guess this Utah winter is determined not to disappoint like in years past.  But I am pretty happy that we've had a good bit of snow to make everything pretty.
Despite the cold, the kids seem impervious to anything that threatens frost bite or loss of life and limb.  They would play outside all day if I would let them.  At least they are pretty cute all bundled up like the stay puff marshmallow man.


Grandma Wendy came down to visit and spend the night for Jack's birthday yesterday.  She's such a good grandma to go freeze her butt off with the kids.  They all look cute bundled up.

 Looks like Jack found something to poke his eye out with.

He's just so proud of his amazing find... hence the picture after picture.

Up and down and round and round... that's right, get nice and tired.

Let's Try This Again

Happy happy New Year! 2013 here we come!

Considering that I am about 13 months behind on my blogging, I decided that I am finally going to start updating.  "We still have a blog," says my husband in the background.  Was that sarcasm or an actual question I wonder?  My plans and goals are ambitious, I know.  So I think baby steps are important.  Firstly, I need to take more pictures than I did this last year.  On my camera card it basically looks like my kids have been aging in 6 month intervals.  Boo to me for being a lazy mom and not dragging my camera out of the case more.

Second, I'm going to try to post current updates as soon and often as possible and I will also do my best to get around to finally posting all those things I should have posted for the last year... a few things here and there.  I'll will leave old content dated in the present for a few days after I post them so people can see when what they missed, and then I'll go backdate the posts so they show up in the correct order in the blog timeline.  So keep an eye out.  

I also look forward to finally keeping up on friend and family blogs more since I can keep track of their updates on my own blog.  I have basically lost track of the blog worthy moments of so many friend's lives this past year since I've been such a slacker and haven't peeked at my blog page much.  So, if you had a baby or moved or had some other exciting life event, I'm sorry I missed it.  

 Here's to a new wonderful year... and keeping track of all the wonderful memories we will make.
