My mom took this video a couple days ago at her house and she thought it was just so funny. I figured this was a good opportunity to send an embarrassing video of my child out into cyberspace that may haunt him for the rest of his life. No really, I just figured everyone would like to look on in jealousy at my son's mad dancing and gymnastics skills (Jack Nielsen- Lord of the Dance. Has a nice ring to it, right?)... not exactly the manly behavior that Kole was hoping for but he is who he is. I believe in loving a supporting your kids in good wholesome things that make them happy- even if they are not exactly what you hoped they would do in life or even if it's not exactly what you think is socially normal... so if his ambitions lead to a life of leaping and twirling, who am I to crush his dream and talents? So, it's not like I would purposely deny him the opportunities to creatively express himself but I am still not quite sure that I want to enroll him in something that will simply give him more creative ways to hurt himself. Guess we'll just have to wait and see where his budding talents take him.
I don't know why but Pirates of Penzance (sp?) is coming to mind right now. lol
ReplyDeletehaha. There is nothing wrong with a boy than can jump and twirl! Adam does some of the BEST pirouettes I've ever seen! And all that gymnasticy crap comes in handy when throwing some tricks on the ol wakeboard! Kona's in tumbling right now, and Adam isn't happy with some of the 'positions' the teacher has them do. haha. Dads. So concerned with their sons' manliness.
ReplyDeleteps, Adam will probably kill me for mentioning his 'pirouetting', but seriously. He does them all the time in his parents kitchen. Just ask Carolyn.
