Why I blog

So, why do I blog? I blog because I need a way to remember our lives. Like many women with "mommy brain," life seems to speed by so fast that the days, weeks, months and years begin to blend together unless I make a true attempt to capture the memories through pictures and print. Sure it would be nice if I wrote in some lovely flowery journal- but I just don't think that's going to happen right now. Anyways, I find a blog is like a journal but better… I like that it keeps me motivated because people expect to see what's new. I like that my friends and family who live far away, or even just down the street, can still know what’s going on. I like that my kids love to see themselves on the computer screen (and they love to see their friends on other peoples’ blogs too). I like that I’m made to really think about what is something worth recording and I find that it’s often the little things that I’ll look back on fondly one day. One day I intend to take these cyber pages and turn them into a real book of memories for our little family... something to cherish and reminisce over. Of course, friends and family are welcome to read along and enjoy our lives along with us... I hope you will... just don't be surprised if this little blog of ours reveals our lives to be truly what they are: imperfect, chaotic, disorganized, and just plain normal… maybe our lives will look a little like yours.

About us...

Kristy, Kole & Kids
Just like the blog title says, we are Kristy (that's me, the author of this blog 99.9% of the time), Kole and Kids (there are currently 3 of them.) Kole and I are happily growing old together. Just as the meter says down below, we've been together quite a while. We are still so in love! Kole has a busy gig as superhero to his home and family (but when he's not in his casual super-suit you'll probably see him in a suit and tie since he's also living his dream job as a seminary teacher by day). I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and "homemaker." That's my dream job too. I love making my house a home and really being there for my kids. With 3 kids running every which way, we just do our best to keep the chaos under control. "As far as everyone else knows, we are a nice, normal family!"

"Men and women who turn their lives over to God will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can. He will deepen their joys, expand their vision, quicken their minds, strengthen their muscles, lift their spirits, multiply their blessings, increase their opportunities, comfort their souls, raise up friends and pour out peace."
-Ezra Taft Benson
"The cleaning and scrubbing can wait 'til tomorrow. For children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down cobwebs! Dust go to sleep! I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."
