Well, I suppose it is about time to make an official announcement...
We will be adding a new member to our little family pretty soon.
Baby #3 is due January 31, 2011.
Kisses for the baby.
So, yes, I am pregnant! This announcement comes a little earlier than I was expecting but this being baby #3 and my tummy muscles are not nearly as superior as they used to be, it is becoming hard to hide my baby bump. I wouldn't be surprised if people were beginning to suspect something's up. I am currently enjoying that awkward frumpy stage where people wonder if you are pregnant or just fat. No fear about offending me now people, now I am just getting fat because I am pregnant. Well, I'm already tired of sucking in like some swimsuit model that just hit the Chuck-a-Rama before a photo shoot so I figured it was time to share the news. Besides, I am a terrible liar and it's really hard for me to not tell everyone.
We are very happy and excited- all of us. We had been trying a lot longer than usual this time and then throw a miscarriage into the mix in December and that made it take even longer. Eve was very sad about the baby we lost before so we waited longer to tell the kids this time. We only told them a little over a week ago but somehow my Jack, who can barely string three words together, already started blabbing my "little secret" weeks ago. His nursery leader came and told me that Jack said the cutest thing- "mommy has a baby in her tummy." I guess kids are a lot more perceptive that I thought. I'm sure my deer in the headlights look was a dead give away but I tried to play it off that my child is simply a little crazy and confused. Maybe she bought it.
Eve has been begging me to have a baby for quite a long time now- but not just any baby, she wants a sister. I told her I didn't get to decide and she would have to take that matter up with Heavenly Father. So, now and then I hear her asking Heavenly Father and Jesus for a sister. I personally feel like it's a girl but we'll be happy either way- we have enough boy stuff and enough girl stuff so we are ready. Jack doesn't seem to care either way but he is very intrigued that there is a tiny baby somewhere in my tummy. He's always lifting my shirt to see if that baby is any bigger and he loves to give my tummy kisses. He's really very sweet. Hopefully he'll keep it up when the baby comes and the harsh reality hits that he's not the baby in the family anymore. I don't think either of them really understands the concept of how long it takes to grow a baby and they are already impatient that the baby isn't here yet. I'm guessing it's going to be a long 6 months for all of us.
Yes, I know that ultrasound pictures of little peanut looking babies are only exciting to parents but I had to share it anyhow.
